A splendid R.C. church in what has been described as "a restrained English Jesuit baroque" style in the centre of Preston. The church, which first opened its doors on 4 June 1793 with a public performance of Handel's Messiah, has since been massively restored and improved. The parish is administered by priests of The Society of Jesus (Jesuits).
