Disused water channel on the edge of Reeth

Made of concrete and stone, this decrepit channel looks like a leat to carry water into Reeth from further up Arkle Beck. Was it to power a mill up ahead? Geograph contributor, Gordon Hatton adds (19/2/20): 'I think you can be 99% certain that this is the remains of the old Reeth mill race, once taking water from Arkle Beck to the village corn mill. By 1912 the 1:25000 map shows the channel as probably in ruins and the mill used as the 'Electric Light Station', which makes one wonder what power was used to generate electricity'.
