The wing to the right with the chevron studding is the oldest part of the building, dating from 1472. The projecting wing to the left is later, and its facing is early 20th century cladding simulating timber framing. The garden layout with formal rose beds and fountain is also 20th century. The house is Listed Grade I, and the modern garden is included in the Listed Grade II* park and garden surrounding the house.
