The Grade II listed building https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1206950 on Roe Street was erected by voluntary contributions in 1813 as a Sunday School. It was founded by John Whitaker, a monument to whom Image stands in the forecourt. In 1844 a Day School was opened in the same building. These schools continued to function until they were closed in 1973. It is now a Heritage Centre https://macclesfieldmuseums.co.uk/venues/the-old-sunday-school incorporating a cafe, craft studio, conference facilities and a cinema http://www.cinemac.org.uk/
