Wigan Post Office at 28 Wallgate was designed by Henry Tanner and opened on 19th October 1885. It is Grade II listed https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1384547 Also Grade II listed http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101384549-the-royal-bank-of-scotland-wigan-central-ward is the former Royal Bank Scotland, 30-32 Wallgate. It is dated 1890 and is by Isitt and Verity. The ground floor is currently used by Salvation Army as a charity shop. There have been plans for the upper floors to be converted into residential accommodation but a fire in 2015 led to discovery of a large cannabis farm in the building.
