The footpath crosses a "meadow" of so called "improved" grassland, in my book this monoculture is an abomination. I can't understand spending a fortune on herbicide, fertilizer and grass seed when in a Image it all comes for free and the land becomes a wildlife haven as a bonus. I'd wager the milk and beef tastes better if the animals have more than one plant species to eat.
