The 'shrine' is to the 139 of the 149 men lost on the Great War. Their names are recorded in a book. Unfortunately the church is only ever open for services and the memorial and the 'shrine' are otherwise wholly inaccessible. The many names of the men and women, both military and civilian, lost from the parish in the Second World War are not recorded here. To view the memorial - http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5351449
