A view of the Afon Ogwen at the point where it is crossed by the A55 dual-carriageway on a viaduct. Weirs have been introduced in order to reduce the erosive power of the river which is prone to powerful floods. The banks have been reinforced and incorporate many of the large glacial erratic boulders which were encountered during the construction of the road.
