Kett's Meadow is a new housing estate built by Persimmon Homes on the edge of Hethersett. The road seen in the foreground is new. It is called Baker Drive and leads into the housing estate, and when completed will link with Coachmaker Way, another new road that will skirt the estate in the north. Jeff Fairborn, the boss of York-based housebuilder Persimmon, is to receive the first instalment of a £110m share bonus on 31 December 2017 - an amount which would reputedly pay for building a council house for every homeless family in the whole of Yorkshire.
