Plaque on Rainbow Bridge

The official name of this bridge, which returns the upstream towpath to the west of the river, is Medley Footbridge, but it is often called Rainbow Bridge on account of its particularly graceful shape. It was built in 1865 and has since been refurbished in 1991 but without altering its appearance.
