The work to uncover the River Roch in Rochdale Town Centre was completed in 2016. The Revealing the Roch project uncovered two sections of the river and exposed the historic bridge, parts of which can be traced back to the mediæval period. The bridge and sections of river were covered over in the Victorian period and were hidden from public view for more than a century. Compare this photo with Image
