View eastward along a metalled stretch at the eastern end of the Berkshire Ridgeway. The alignment of the ancient trackway runs along the valley floor, between Thurle Down (to the north) and Lough Down. By any reckoning this is a horsey part of the country - the entrance (part visible) in the right foreground leads to a livery yard.
