The 1.8 hectare gardens surrounding the hall are open to the public, they include two tennis courts and a bowling green for visitors to enjoy. The Grade II listed hall dates from the 15th century with many later alterations. Originally built for the Vernon family, the hall and its grounds were purchased by Leicester Corporation in 1950 and extensive renovation was carried out in 2003 to create private accommodation.
