The original owner/occupier of this small listed https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101104434-kings-cottage-parkham/upload-photo#.WsfXx9QrLGg cottage on the cliff edge was a man called James Braund, one member of a long-standing family in the area. He lived from 1809 until 1898, and during his time was known as "The King of Bucks" for his seamanship (a qualified Master Mariner) and work in the local limekilns, fishing industry and exploits as a sort of unofficial lifeboatman.
