View north from near Millhill Spinney of permanent pasture on slopes up to 18° with ridge and furrow aligned downslope. The high ground is capped by Triassic Arden Sandstone and Branscombe Mudstone Formations; the lower slopes are formed in Edwalton Mudstone with a thin covering of Head. In the middle distance is the floodplain of the river Trent with river terrace deposits and alluvium, and beyond that Beeston.
