Irvine Way

Part of the inter-war development of the Knoll Rise/Broom Hill area. Although the road is shown on the 1938 6 inch map (based on a 1930-31 revision), it only served as a link between Broxbourne Road and Mayfield Avenue (seen in the background - which at that time ended at its junction with Irvine Way). The only house shown was that seen behind the tree in this photo - the two bungalows came later in what was initially its back garden.
