For the origin of the place name 'Tydd' see http://www.british-history.ac.uk/vch/cambs/vol4/pp224-232 Historic England lists the church as Grade II, mainly late 12th and 14th centuries, with 19th century renovations; and lists the tower as Grade I, late 13th century, with 16-17th century bell stage. Wikipedia, however, suggests that the tower was originally part of the church, collapsed in the 18th century, and was rebuilt as a separate structure during the 19th century. renovations of the church
