This notice is on the imposing entrance to the Federation Jewish Cemetery at Rainham. See http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5225708 for a photograph of the entrance arch. A total of 106 acres for the cemetery was purchased in 1936. It was consecrated in February 1938. Rainham has a capacity for 45-50,000 graves and is at 60% of capacity.
