The wall marks the approximate site of the "Wagon & Horses" public house, situated to the west of Caldew Bridge at the junction of Milbourne Street and Bridge Street. Believed opened before 1796, it came under State management in August 1916. Closed by the State in 1917, it was demolished in 1924 and no trace can now be found.
