The Ordnance Survey cut a benchmark, http://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm77194 , on this face of the church in 1848, but the mark was presumably lost when the chancel was rebuilt on an plan by C G Hare in 1928, the year recorded on a date stone below the window.
