The round plaque reads: 2000AD CASTLEFORD MILLENNIUM CLOCK DEDICATED TO THE PEOPLE OF CASTLEFORD THIS PLAQUE WAS UNVEILED BY THE RT HON GORDON BROWN MP CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER FRIDAY 17 DECEMBER 1999 MAY THIS CLOCK HOLD AS MANY FOND MEMORIES AS THE ORIGINAL 'OLD MARKET CLOCK 1907-1971' THE INSPIRATION FOR THIS CLOCK CAME FROM THE TIME FOR CASTLEFORD GROUP CHAIRMAN MR ERIC CROSSLAND 'AUDACTER ET SINCERE' [Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the clock!!]
