Your eyes are not deceiving you - the sheep were a rusty shade of orange. Closer inspection seemed to reveal they had been dyed, sprayed or washed this colour. Enquiries solved the conundrum. The farmer had over 300 stolen, and had taken drastic action to deter thieves.
