Built in 1889 funded by, and on land provided by, George Cubitt, MP for Epsom at the time (later Lord Ashcombe), who lived at Denbies. He also served as Honorary Colonel of the 5th Battalion, Royal West Surrey Regiment, which used the hall. The hall is now used by Surrey County Council as a book store for its library service.
