Newport Pagnell Services opened on the 15th August 1960 under the name 'Motorway Services Ltd'. It was the second service station to be opened in the UK, but as the Watford Gap services were originally only for trucks, Newport Pagnell was the first to open for all traffic. The service area is currently owned and operated by Welcome Break.
