Basingstoke Rural West Neighbourhood
If you live in and around East Woodhay, Burghclere, Highclere, St Mary Bourne, Kingsclere or Sherbourne St John, you will now come under the new Rural West Neighbourhood area, the team comprises of a Police Constable. The dedicated named officer PC Maier will deal with local issues and engagements and address criminality and safeguarding the vulnerable. The West area and South area have a similar set up which means that when resources are required they can be moved around to support a policing need.
First point of contact for local issues should be through the DNO PC Maier, but feel free if you have any questions about the team or a particular problem to contact me via email - [email protected] or via the 101 system and I will get back to you. Please be reminded that the team work a variety of shifts and could be on rest days for 2 or 3 days.

Neighbourhood Officer Details
Police officer for over seventeen years, Sergeant for the last five and a half years, roles completed include, response, investigations, neighbourhoods and most recent role prior to taking on the role of rural Sergeant for Basingstoke was as a Custody Sergeant at the Northern Police investigation centre in Basingstoke.
I am responsible for overseeing the operational Policing for the Basingstoke rural area which covers a geographic area roughly the same size as the Isle of Wight. I supervise a team of Police Constables and Police community officers
Your Local Bobby is the neighbourhood policing officer dedicated to your area.
They will identify threat, harm and risk to tackle local issues and protect the community. They will investigate local crimes and collect intelligence, working closely with partner agencies to identify the best problem-solving approach. They are supported by Neighbourhood Policing Teams, Neighbourhood Enforcement Teams, District Police Teams (response officers), Missing Locate Teams, Priority Crime Teams, local investigation teams and specialist functions investigating serious violence, child abuse and organised crime.
Expect your Local Bobby to be highly visible in the community, listening to your concerns and addressing root causes of crime. While your Local Bobby is your local community contact, you can also contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team using the ‘Contact Us’ option found in the tab above.
