Once known as Shamrock Inn on Clifton Hill. There is a datestone of 1777 and is believed to have been built by a woolstapler. From the 1820s until 1853 the top floor was used as a Sunday School. This meant that the wooden handlooms which occupied the upper floor had to be dismantled on Saturday nights and put together again when Sunday School was finished in time for Monday. The building was first used as a beerhouse in 1866 and became known for its social events like Music Hall, singing contests and even rabbit coursing behind the inn. Now converted to flats I believe
