Once known as the Red House, the Robin Hood Inn dates from circa 1890. Photographs on the Old Cumbria Gazetteer web site ( http://www.geog.port.ac.uk/webmap/thelakes/html/lgaz/lgazfram.htm ) show the pub sign once depicted Robin Hood, but this appears to have changed post 2006. A "State Managed" pub from October 1916 until circa 1973.
