Simister Island is the junction of the M60, M62, and M66 north of Manchester. The M60 approaches from the west and the south, meaning that to remain on the M60 one must use slip roads and the roundabout. Here, the slip road is used to access the M60 anticlockwise(left lane) and the M62 eastbound via the roundabout (centre and right); the lanes on the right provide direct access from the M60 anticlockwise to the M66 northbound. Meanwhile, at right angles, direct access between the M60 and M62 crosses the junction at the highest level.
