Quarter of a mile from Sutton Bridge Junction. Viewed from an over-bridge at Belle-View, Shrewsbury. When the electronic ERTMS signalling system was being installed on the Cambrian lines in 2008 it appeared that distance markers were to be metricated (see Image). Evidently that local scheme was abandoned but it was subsequently announced that all British railway distance markers were to be metricated. How this will pan out in the light of Brexit is anybody's guess.
