Looking from the end of the southern segment of this public footpath across Heaton Road - the continuing path to Kingswell Road can just be seen to the right of the hedge. The fact that the mapped route of the right of way is continuous, rather than stopping here and restarting ahead, suggests that the path was here before the road was put through. Old maps support this - this was the original dead end of Heaton Road, before the extra little development was built.
