Redhill: B.O.A.T. O18 from Wimborne Road

The left-hand of these two driveways is a public right of way, a byway open to all traffic (or B.O.A.T.) which today appears to be a private drive to Redhill Park Homes. The right of way does not seem to have any apparent function as a through route - however, a look at the historical map shows us that it comes to an end at the original main course of the river (with a ford marked on the map). The original course of the river is still evident on the modern-day map because the borough boundary follows that course. See Image for a view a little way along the drive, plus further links.
