We are alongside the bridge carrying the A338 Wessex Way over Wellington Road - see Image From each side of the bridge run two similar public footpaths, the one ahead being path number C18. This one leads to Portchester Road and Ascham Road, while the other heads to Portchester Place (the leftover segment of Portchester Road when the A338 was built).
