This sculpture by local artist Ann Henderson was erected in 1971 in Market Square, Galashiels. The statue originally stood in the centre of the Market Square but when the square was re-landscaped in 1994 it was decided to move the sculpture to look directly down Channel Street. The inscription at the base of the sculpture reads: MAN WITH SHEEP PRESENTED TO THE BURGH OF GALASHIELS BY MR CHRISTOPHER SCOTT OF GALA AND THE SCOTTISH ARTS COUNCIL NOVEMBER 1971
