One of the many ornate clocks in the city dating from Victorian times. This one now lies between Harborne Road and Calthorpe Road, and was photographed from the latter as it is quite risky to cross the busy roads here. Long long ago there used to be a horse tram route passing close by to the clock and there are old photos in existence showing this. The clock is a listed structure and was erected to commemorate Birmingham's first coroner, Dr. John Birt Davies. He was appointed on the 15th May 1839 and retired in 1876 at the age of 76.
