Decorated for the town's "Flora Day" Festival to welcome the arrival of spring. The "Furry Dance" is a dancing street parade with its participants dressed in their very finest clothes passing in and out of participating houses and shops driving out the winter gloom and letting in the bright spring. Hal-an-Tow though is another street pageant representing the Elizabethan raid by the Spanish on the town, George slaying the dragon and Robin Hood. This is the first of a full day's celebrations taking place traditionally on the 8th of May
