The current building dates from 1996 and replaced an older structure that had been erected in the 1960s. Archeological excavations prior to the rebuilding discovered late Saxon and medieval remains that suggests the centre of the settlement may well have been located next to the church. Just visible on the left is the lych gate for St Andrew's church which was erected in 1856.
