Bridge#6 on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal at Netherton is crossed by St Oswald's Lane, a busy local road. This bridge used to have high fences along it to restrict access to the towpath and the canal http://www.towpathtreks.co.uk/photodisplay.asp?ino=0096 but nowadays, the canal is regarded as a community facility and people are encouraged to use the towpath (albeit with anti-vehicle gates on towpath to discourage anti-social use).
