The Old Kent Market, Margate

On Fort Hill and the corner of Mansion Street. The building started life as The Parade Cinema in 1911. In 1952 it was renamed Classic Repertory Cinema but it closed in 1963 and became a Bingo club. From 1979 to 1981 it was again a cinema but this time showing uncensored sex films. In 1982 it was converted to a snooker club and lastly it was known as The Thanet Matchroom Social Club. It opened as The Old Kent Market on Good Friday 2016 with the official opening planned for the 1st May.
