The cable is still attached. According to Nick Catford of Subterrania Britannica, who recorded the site in 1998 and 2003, all surface features were intact and the hatch was locked. Internally, the following artefacts were still in place: a table, shelf, cupboard, large fire blanket in its box, some papers, log book, stool, enamel bucket with lid, 2 cloud charts, large splint, 2 pairs of Wellington boots, cluster map, plastic plates/cups, rubber gloves, teapot, kettle, saucepan and the BPI mount. Nick also reported that post was due to be sold in 2003. The post was opened in June 1959 and closed in September 1991 and the site is now much overgrown. The Orlit B hut > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4907061 also on the compound remains in good condition but the wooden instrument mountings which Nick found to be still in place have however since fallen off and parts of it are dangling from the branches of an adjoining tree.
