A cold but sunny morning outside Morrisons supermarket on Mottram Road. Just before Christmas the price of petrol here had dropped to under a pound per litre. Today it has risen to 100.7 pence per litre and diesel, which for a long time has been dearer than petrol, is the same price. Autogas remains unchanged at 49.9 pence per litre. Prices have always been rounded down to something point nine pence to make them appear marginally cheaper but I don't recall point seven being used before.
