Behold her single in the kitchen, yon solitary Lakeland lass! This is the kitchen of the Georgian Wordsworth household where the precocious young William was born in 1770. Circumstances meant that he didn't have any adult meals prepared here as he vacated the dwelling when he was around seven years old due to the death of his father whose employment "went with the house".
