Viewed across Stow Hill in mid March 2016. The Cwtsh website states that since the closure in March 2013 of the small building on the right as Newport City Council's Stow Hill Library, a small band of volunteers has been working to reopen it. This vision was achieved at the start of April 2015, when the newly-refurbished community arts space that is Cwtsh opened its door to the public for the first time. A community library and arts space, Cwtsh is a not very big white box designed to accommodate a wide variety of arts, crafts, literary, educational and recreational activities. Not simply a library as before (though there is a small children's library), Cwtsh also provides free access to the Internet so that those who need it can go online to order their books from the Newport City Library portal.
