Ye Olde Wheatsheaf on Christleton Road. It was a Greenalls pub was run by landlord Harry Allan and his wife Beryl in the 1970s and early 1980s. Old Harry could be a bit of a misery and supposedly kept an old bandage sling behind the bar and slipped it on if any tourist coach parties came in on summer afternoons, and he'd say " I'm on my own with me bad arm, sorry you'll have to go next door". A few years after Harry retired, the brewery sold it and it opened as an antiques shop and then a Thai restaurant. It has been mostly un-occupied for the last 15 years. http://www.closedpubs.co.uk/cheshire/chester_oldwheatsheaf.html
