The humps and hollows in this field (seen here from the churchyard to get some elevation) are the remains of the medieval earthworks described at Pastscape: http://www.pastscape.org.uk/hob.aspx?hob_id=348748 . Pastscape talks of a moated manor, enclosures, and a field system, where the OS map says "fishponds".
