A rather dull shot, of interest only because this site is earmarked for development, which should be well under way by now. In the middle distance, next to the fence which borders the MOD depot, my wife is visible checking buckets embedded in the ground for Great Crested Newts (or GCNs, as those in the trade know them). The plastic fencing visible in the foreground prevents the newts escaping from the site, and when the encounter it they follow it until they fall into the buckets. Then, people like my other half come along, remove them and pop them over the fence, and in this way development sites are cleared of GCNs. Taken on film with a Pentax K1000.
