I was quite glad that there was a fence between me and this amazingly aggressive goose, who came rushing up to me hooting and extending his wings in a threatening manner. He pecked viciously at my boot and trouser leg when I put the toe of my boot through the fence to see what he would do. Thanks to Hugh Venables for telling me that he is a Cape Barren Goose. This species (Cereopsis novaehollandiae) is native to south-eastern Australia.
