Just a few days earlier, the Polaroid Eyewear plant here in the Vale of Leven Industrial Estate had been the subject of television and newspaper reports stating that it is to close. It was demolished at the end of 2021. Much has changed since the era when, at the end of each working day, Image would quake under the feet of those heading home. The Polaroid Factory appears in the left background of this picture, but, because of its position, it is not well seen from here (compare Image); the building in the right foreground is that of a different firm, a bottling and packing company. For a view of the factory itself, see Image For views from other angles, see Image / Image / Image
