Unique among many locomotives awaiting scrapping in October 1947 was 'The Master General', an unnumbered 0-4-0T. It had been built by Andrew Barclay in 1910 for the complex lines at the Woolwich Arsenal, sold in 1922 for use on the Mersey Docks & Harbour lines, then to the SR Southampton Docks Department; it was not actually cut up until 12/48.
