The casual visitor to the Mendips will be astonished to see a stone circle in a plain farm field whilst in this area. The unavoidable fact is that these stones are not exactly ancient - far from it, indeed! It's not clear whether they are a simple folly or something the sheep have created in order to praise their gods. Then again, the Mendips are rich in local legends. And cider.
