Visible off the platform, the Hogsmill Valley sewage treatment works. The 1970s TV series "The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin", the blackly comic tale of a disillusioned middle-aged executive having a nervous breakdown, featured Perrin delayed to work every day by problems at various stations on the railway into Waterloo: "Badger ate a junction-box at Berrylands" was one of these.
